SPIRIT OF FUN!
Fun Happens!
Are we recognizing it?
Create fun while teaching your children the art of allowing -- allowing fun to happen and allowing yourself to experience the spirit of fun.
One example:
“The game for today is -- how many times can you find fun in something you did not know was fun?”
“We will see your creativity tonight at supper.”
Add your participation:
“I believe I will find fun 8 times today where I did not know fun existed.”
“Already, I have an idea – I will act like the washing machine is a basketball goal and see how many shirts I can sink.”
At supper, acknowledge the effort by talking about what fun was discovered. Adults in the house contribute as well. Discussing the day is a cooperative effort rather than competition of who achieved the most.
Another aspect of this exercise is celebrating little things you do not typically think of celebrating—
*the lawn mower started the first time
*the children appropriately entertained themselves
*supper was simple and easy
*it was a beautiful day
*it was a rainy day.
The intention is introducing and acknowledging the element of fun in everyday life.Practiced consistently, “looking for fun” becomes a way of life.
The SPIRIT OF FUN is a part of you that just HAPPENS!
